Unfortunatly, I got a bad computer virus when I hit the Share button on Bonnie's tell your friends about the cruise sweepstakes. Almost immediately my computer froze and then I got a security alert from "Alpha-something or other" company, which I quickly realized that we didn't use. I tried everything to get it off but it keeps asking for $75 to join this obvious bogus virus protection company. I googled it online and found out that it's "malware..." not sure what that is but it's especially tenatious & won't go away no matter what I do... I am in no way saying that this is Bonnie's fault. I guess these companies attach themselves to these apps and "look" for an opening & take it... I was trying to send it to about 80 FB friends with the hope that one of us would win either the trip to see the show in CA or win the cruise for me and 9 of my friends...
Any suggestions would be appreciated... : 1
OMG YES!!!!! there was at least 4 of us that did!!!!It is the exact same crap we had on ours. The more you click on the X out the more it grabs you and sends all the crap. I had PORN.
You need to have your puter devirused. I had an IT guy at my husbands work put another company version of protection on my puter. It will NOT go away. Comes from FB. Once you get it cleaned up dont enter any more applications on FB and dont play anymore games.
Sorry this happened to you too. IT is a BUG mess.
Good luck Jan.
Hi Cindy -
Thanks so much for letting me know... I'm so sorry this happened to you, too... It took my husband 2 days to wipe my computer clean and then get most everything back. I still can't shut it down correctly, but at least I can use it again... I felt so isolated without my PC! It's amazing how dependant we become of these things!
Have a great holiday season!
