Hello my fellow travelers. We continue to grow. Isn't it wonderful. I hope we get to know the new members and they will post and get to know us too. This is a fantastic and supportive group. It so good to see you all here sharing your thoughts. For the first years of my illness , I never had a better day. All were miserable and bedridden. As I did things to help my immune system and such heal , I had good then bad . Now , unless I have something ( such as my back out of whack ) I do better about that. My days are more even, instead of a rollercoaster. It takes a lot of work to get to here but I believe you are worth the try. There is no cure but , for me , any imporvement is worth the life changes. I agree with Valerie, it is very hard but to move some helps. When I started doing breathing exercises and then Chi Kung exercises then on to leg lifts, I cried through much of it because it was so difficult to manage. I also must admit , that during the early stages , when I did these exercises, that it used up all of the life I had in me for that day. I had to make a discission, that for this time, I was my Job. Best to each of you.

Thank you Ellen I can't eat more than a half cup of food in one sitting. I am gluocse intolorent because I don't have a stomach. I didn't form a new larger pouch as expected because of all of my scar tissue. My gastrienterologist keeps a sharp eye on me. My new doctor was the first in 5 years to tell me to lose weight. I told him I did, 110 lbs! give me a break. Better yet tell me why.
I believe my metabolism is gone. I have been tested for thryroid regularly, it's always -ok.

we are expecting snow tonight and tomorrow. :( I have a foot with a lot of nerve damage etc., that is a very painful weather station, it has kept me up 2 nights already& still is hurting now. I can relate to the weight probs. Ive even had bariatric surgery and still have a hard time losing any. stinks for sure.
hope we all get some relief soon. so nice to see new faces here too. welcome..

Menopause made me gain weight. I was always exersising and eating a cardio diet. I realized after alot of work how to slowly reduce so I won't injure myself but if you think your not eating think that in half that is the sad part. Fill it with vegetables that agree with you. I tend to get digestive problems so I try to keep food simple so my body recognizes it. Does that make sense? Some have problems utilizing certain foods and non foods that are in our food.

Wow, this is such and eye opener. I also have major anemia. For the longest time I thought what I was feeling was Crohn's side effects. Most of us suffer from vitamin difficencies because our gastric systems are no longer functioning properly. I don't absorb calcium. My teeth all started crumbling. Plus I vomit alot when I'm out of remission. This started (again) Spring of 2009. It was more than a flare up, it lasted over a year. The strange thing was I gain weight(?) I will never figure it out I hardly ate. Maybe it was menopause at the same time, or menopause was the trigger. I was out of remission for over a year. I thought I caught it early enought this time to prevent a major blow to my system.
Now I'm starting to think while I was taking Azathioprine I more than likely was opened up to get the CFS FM virus. No wonder why now that I have been off it for a long time I'm still weak. My eyesight is blurry at times. I'm freezing all the time expect when the personal microwave kicks in, boy I'm a mess!

Cathy, Ellen & Sheyl,
I am soo sorry that you are having a tough day. I have these flair ups too with my FM & RA. Since getting my CPAP machine (for sleep apnea) I do feel better, so breathing right is key.
Also, I know it sounds impossible but if you could stretch, even just a little, you will feel sooo much better. Try out the Arthritus Association's website for a video. As they say,,, use it or loose it...but I also found that by doing their video it gave me a sense of pride and accomplishment. And belive it or not... I fell so much better when I streatch.... even if I just lay on the floor and move my arms and massage my legs. God Bless you all.
