what is a compound drug store? is that a prescription gel?
Katherine I Parker Comment by Katherine I Parker on November 17, 2009 at 1:37pm
The perscription that has helped me the most is Ketoprofen 20%/Lidocain 5% Gel. You can only get it at a compound drug store. They're hard to find

I can now think back to many many times when I know now that the pain I had was fibro. I used to actually have panic attacks because I'd be doing something physcial and I'd end up in so much pain I figured I was having a heart attack or a stroke or something. I recall taking my kids palces and walking all day, going to maybe a theme park or something and I'd have to sit down cuz my back etc., hurt SO bad I wanted to cry. at the time I simply blamed it on being over weight. but now I know that want all it. Ive lost 70 pounds so far and I hurt more now than ever. I was only diagnosed about 6 years ago with FM.

Catherine, I hope things get better for you soon.

Catherine, I'm sorry for your grief and will hold you close in prayer. I do think many people have not gotton diagnosed as soon as they got sick. Some many years later.Write if you need me. Blessings to you my friend.

Catherine~ I am sorry about your grandmother. I was also the victim of Domestic Violence and started a group here, it is a little slow going however I have a similar group with Ellen that is taking off and growing. I also think it might be hereditary. My grandmother suffers from arthritis, or so she was told many years ago. My mother has complained of hurting for so long I am not sure if "Fibromyalgia" was termed. I have it and my 9 year old daughter already has the some pain in the exact same places, before she knew of my pain so I know she is being honest. I worry for her because it seems to be worse as it moves down the line. Hopefully they will have more answers for her. I am already teaching her many things in hope she learns to "outsmart" some of the problems before they become bigger. You and your grandmother are in my thoughts and prayers!

HayLura, Thanks so much for the info . I have also done the eat right for the blood type and it does help. I mention some things about the food we eat in my book. I found that along with eating right, that I also needed many other things to get my energy, pain and brain fog to a minimum.

I am getting ready to leave for a cruise early tomorrow morning, but wanted to stop by and say Hi and that after 10 years of dealing with Fibro and being put on ~ Paxil, Prozac, Welbutrin, pain medications etc etc ~ i finally told my Dr enough is enough... these pills made me feel suicidal and didn't help the pain at all.
I went to a Dr who helps people with Fibro and Chronic pain by putting them on the diet by your blood type. I followed it for 3 months and saw a big difference within 3 weeks, but whenever i eat certain foods that I am not supposed to have the pain comes back... now that the weather is getting colder i am suffering again.... I am cruising to Mexico and will do the best I can when it comes to eating, but when I come back I will follow this diet 100% for a full month again to see how I feel.... I do believe a lot of the pain we suffer is food related and that a lot of us who are over the age of 40 struggle with that because we don't want to give up the foods that we love...
Anyway, take care and have a good week.... The book that has helped the most is
Eat Right For Your Blood Type.... <3

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO AREN'T INTERESTED ,PLEASE IGNORE. I've had many of you write and ask me about my book. I love the interest. I did not arrive at the point of a book by any simple means. I suffered just like you. I did a lot of research and used myself as the test subject. I enjoy answering all of your questions but the thing is that there is no single thing which will help you. The point of what I've written is that there is a combination of things which work together to help relieve symptoms. Removing chemimals from your life, removing toxins from your intestines and liver, changes in diet to see if any food is causing you any problems, getting on proper supplements which work together to build up your weakened body, getting started on breathing exercises and working up to a more challenging breathing exercise which helps with brain fog, pain and helps to build your energy level. All of these things combined , done one by one, can allow you to find a better quality to your life. I know that everyone is different but I hear from people all the time who are being helped in one way of another by what I've written . It thrills me to know that many are being helped. I still do the things in my book myself. I live by them each day. I just wanted to explain to those interested that in order to get the full effect, it is done over time and step by step. I know that many of you are on a fixed income and purchasing a book is not a top priority. I understand that, for I'm also on a fixed income. I had to pay to have the book published and for the new feature I have gotton to send it by way of an E-mail attachment. This attachment is the same as the book and I even send the book cover photo. You may put it into a file or run it off if you have a copier. The 5.00 fee is to pay for the expense which I've gone to in order to get this info available for others. If I hadn't had to do this , I wouldn't charge a fee at all. The book is still available at the Amazon.com book store but is less expensive to get from me by an E-mail attachment. If interested (please send a postal money order along with your name and E-mail address) to: Clarissa Shepherd, 445 South Church St. Mountain City, TN. 37683 and I'll get it right out to you. PLEASE DON'T STOP ASKING QUESTIONS. I only write this to you because I want you to get the full experience. (if you're on more than one Fm or Cfs site and get this twice ,please excuse me) Thank you all.

Well I feel like I can sleep all the time now, only because many, many years ago my better half's granny made a quit and it is so thick and warm you do not want to get out of bed. Wishing blessings and love on all of you,.
