My First Crush

Dear Bonnie,

I have been following your career for years, because you are funny and of course come from Chicago. I saw Mike (the bartender) on your show yesterday. Mike was my first crush. He lived across the street from me in Chicago. I thought he was the most handsome guy ever. He was older than me so I never said anything to him.

How it happened, I was 9 and he was I guess about 11-12 years old. My friends and I found baby birds in the tree in front of his house. One had fallen out of his nest. He came out of the house and helped us get the baby bird back in the nest. He was my hero. I carried this memory around for years. I have followed his career. Please say hi to him for me.

He will remember the family I am the eldest daughter of eleven on Washtenaw.
